Al Shamal pipes Co. produces GRP pipes (Glass Reinforced Plastic) of resin as well as
Poly Ethylene pipes

The line of production contains three machines:
the first machine produces pipes of diameters (200 mm up to 800 mm), and the other two machines produce pipes of diameters (900 mm up to 3000 mm)> All these pipes are manufactured with (bell & spigot) i.e., joining them together is fulfilled on the insertion principle (Tenon and Mortise), i.e., the spigot of the first pipe inserts in the bell of the next pipe, with existence of rubber sealed gaskets… and so on. Manufacturing of GRP pipes is also fulfilled using the method of the continuous mold, which is performed by the "Continuous" machine, that is specialized in producing this kind of pipes where they are cut in the required lengths and joined one to another by means of rings manufactured of the same materials as the GRP with the use of rubber gaskets as sealers ("Reka" connection). Two lines of production for manufacturing Poly Ethylene pipes of diameters from 20 up to 630 mm are also under construction.

How to specify GRP PIPES

After having listed some of the positive features of GRP pipes it is now the time to address the subject of how to make sure those failures will not occur as a result of improper use.
Unfortunately for most of the designers of the pipelines and installation contractors GRP is still a new material that they are unable to specify.
